Foreign Office
FILMMAKER
Foreign Office is a creative design and moving image studio based in London. It all started at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London where the partners met during their BA in Graphic Design 1994. Since 1997 we have nurtured a wide range of interests and talents together, from our origin in graphic design via web design, animation and filmmaking, our main focus.
Our unique mix of skills, talent and experience has taken us through projects from a wide spectrum of the media industry, so our teams can deliver top quality visual communication work whatever the medium, whatever the message. Our homestead in design, along with our love for story and music, positions us uniquely for both filmmaking and branding.
Our past highlights include creating feature film titles and VFX for The Queen, Children of Men, Mrs Henderson Presents, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and many more, identity and promotion work for ITV, Channel 4, Five, MTV, Vh1 and Nickelodeon, web design and content work for Sony Playstation, Tatler, Boo.com, advertising work for most of the major international agencies, and several content development projects for animated series, a virtual band, several large branding and design projects, most recently for Universal Music and Formula 1, along with a long line of music promos. Foreign Office has done it all, and we have the luxury of being able to deploy all that breadth of experience to the benefit of our clients.
In 2009 we have continued our long line of feature film title sequences with Stephen Frears’ Cheri, Alastair Siddons’ Turn It Loose, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and the forthcoming Christmas epic The Nutcracker directed by Russian master Andrei Konchalovsky.
We’ve created the F1Rocks brand for ATW/Universal that will tour the world in 2010, and worked with Skinny and Stink on a bumper international campaign for Vodafone. We’ve created the Shed TV channel brand for real men with Discovery and Devilfish, and continued our co-branding adventures with MTV, this time for Kswiss.
And we’ve still managed to keep a bunch of candles burning for documentaries, from Pen Chaffer’s brilliant Toxic Baby to the towering Swedish environmental feature The Plan to the forthcoming collaborative phenomenon Coalition of the Willing – films you’ll all be talking about in ‘010.
Foreign Office partners are Sonia Ortiz Alcon, Matteo Manzini and Fredrik Nordbeck.
