We Should Take Our Lead from Web 2.0
For our section we wanted to evoke something quite futuristic and representative of the modern technological age, but also staying true to the overall hand-crafted style of the film, referencing the 1960’s but without having to alter the palette too dramatically within such a short amount of time.
Simon concieved the original boards which included rays of light cramming through a prism, then spreading out to reveal a brave new world of ideas. This cleverly homaged the classic pink floyd album cover, albeit in reverse.
From here I set about creating a look and realisation to bring our basic ideas to fruition.
I tend to problem solve by doodling, so much of my Work In Progress elements are simply that, as I hit the books to sketch out some solutions.
After creating layouts and a rough sense of space for our section, we set to thinking what would best represent the wonderful world of Web 2.0
Screens / Icons / Web Avatars / Mobile Telephones??
After various tests and hundreds of sketches, I plumped for Zaps – Bolts of raw electric energy!
With the basic design elements in place I’ve been working with colour palettes and creating a general mood board for us to animate to.
More to follow very very very soon…
